Nuristan was a fundraiser held before the instigation of Kalash Welfare. Instead Nuristan raised money for a Scottish charity called Afghan Schools which builds schools just across the Afghan border form the Kalash Valleys in Nuristan.

Nuristan was held in the Edinburgh club, Studio 24. Afghan food was on offer and the venue was decorated with projections and images of Afghanistan. Graffiti artists were commissioned to paint Dari slogans and life sized photographs of mujahideen were placed a strategic points in the club so as to keep order. The music was an eclectic mix of DJs and bands and for those who wanted a quieter evening of it we held a story telling event in a separate room.
